    The suite off the main floor has a full bath, so grandparents skip the stairs entirely. Three more bedrooms are upstairs.

  • Walk to the pier, the store, and dinner

    Cape Porpoise is a working harbor village. Restaurants, shops, the pier, and the general market are an easy walk from the door. The beaches are a short drive.

Built new on land the family has held since 1906

Dex and Josie Hutchins bought this waterfront lot in 1906, when it was part of Cape Porpoise’s working harbor. Their great-grandchildren built the the house that stands here now, designed to complement the architecture of the neighborhood.

Inside, it is a house for a full table: a kitchen you can actually cook in, living room, den with desk, and a deck where morning coffee faces the water.

The village, not Dock Square

Cape Porpoise is the quiet end of Kennebunkport: lobster boats, a pier, a general market, a few restaurants. Dinner is a walk, not a drive.

Goose Rocks Beach and downtown Kennebunkport are a short drive when you want them. At high tide you can put a kayak in from the yard.
